As part of the Solid Waste Management Project at Rashidieh Camp, the “3, 2 and 1” campaign, implemented by ANERA with the support of UNICEF and funded by the Canadian Government, Association Najdeh launched its youth initiative, “All together we make all new”, that aims to beautify one of the camp’s alleys environmentally, healthily and formally.
Due to the spread of bugs in Burj al-Barajneh camp, Association Najdeh within the Cash for work project, that aims to preserve a healthy environment for our people and in coordination with UNRWA, the spraying of pesticides has been carried out several times. The spraying was in coordination with local NGOs and Kindergartens, preceding the opening of the scholastic year and the reception of children.
Association Najdeh conducted an awareness workshop in Rashidieh. The sessions discussed preparations of children to schools and domestic rules. The sessions was facilitated by the psychiatrist Hanan Abu Huse.
Women Rights Program conducted series of awareness sessions for youth committees in Beirut through “Man program”. The psychiatrist Randa Haddad lectured and facilitated the sessions. The sessions dealt with topics: Dangers of drugs, negative impact of drugs over the individual and the community, and a field visit to camp to talk with people about the topic and their opinions.
Capacity building workshop: Enhancing the capacity of front-line staff for Association Najdeh in Lebanon to build an integrated monitoring and evaluation system within the association through a project funded by #UNTF and Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation.
Association Najdeh in coordination with CRTDA conducted a training workshop (Funded by Canada Fund) about Leadership for a group of women who are interested in productive projects. Women committees of Women Program participated in the workshop for two days in August 2017 at Najdeh Center in Shatila camp.
Association Najdeh organized a rehabilitation project for walls of the neighborhood of NaherElBared camp through the campaign “A beautiful Environment for Everyone”. This project is funded by ANERA, UNICEF, and Canadian Government.
Association Najdeh conducted a training workshop for Women’s rights Program Staff about Human Rights and women’s rights in particular. The workshop discussed the historical development of women rights through the development of Human rights in the international laws. The workshop was over two days in August 2017, and was facilitated by the lawyer Ms. Afaf Al Shemali.
Association Najdeh in cooperation with UNRWA Clinic at Weevil/ Baalbek conducted a health seminar and discussions under the title of “Depression and Good Nutrition”. Dr. Mohamad Wehbe, was the speaker in the seminar. Ms. Danita Abu El Foul, Najdeh Balbeck Branch Coordinator opened the session and welcomed the attendees and presented NAJDEH’s programs and services. The session included the graduation of diabetic patients who got trained in the micro-clinic program (by UNRWA), where they received certificates by the UNRWA Director in Beqa’a Dr. Mahmoud Refai.
Women’s Right program conducted a raising awareness workshop at BarElias/ Beqa’a under the title of “Human Rights and CEDAW convention” for vocational training program students (Accounting Dep.) The sessions were facilitated by the program coordinator in Beqa’a Mariam Beqa’ae.
